Press and media service

Film and photo shoots at Hannover Airport are only allowed in public areas and upon payment of a fee. You should apply for an official photo or film permit from the airport operator before you start shooting. Various security rules and regulations must be complied with. Further information is provided below.

Public areas
These include for example parking areas, access roads, operational areas, terminals, galleries and shopping arcades which are freely accessible to our passengers and visitors.

Please note that we are not solely responsible for all motifs.

We'd be delighted to put you in touch with the appropriate people or help you when coordinating your work. Permission to film or take photos can be refused or withdrawn and film/photo shoots postponed or canceled during production without giving further reasons if space is limited or in the event of other restrictions and dangers.

The relevant airlines make decisions regarding filming in aircraft. The tower is operated by Deutsche Flugsicherung, while handling companies provide passenger and cargo handling services.

Carrying out your project
The airport company requires the following information in writing in order to issue a film permit: Medium used, purpose, scope, filming day and duration of work including set-up and dismantling, number of people, technical requirements and the required motifs.

Smaller productions with fewer requirements must be registered up to 24 hours beforehand.

Please understand that the relevant departments and security units can take several days to check the details for more extensive productions.

General information regarding safety and carrying out your project
There must be absolutely no interference in the movement and flow of our passengers, visitors and personnel.

It must also be made clear that the production or similar is not on behalf of the airport operator.

Passengers and airport staff as well as other companies at the airport may not be surveyed/interviewed without prior consent. Publications must be shown before the project starts. In the event of any conflicts of interest, Hannover Airport may refuse permission. Passengers that can be traced directly to an airline may only be surveyed with the permission of the relevant airline. Recordings of passenger and goods checks are forbidden by the authorities.

Instructions given by Hannover Airport, security personnel and the relevant authorities and supervisory personnel must be followed. If you fail to observe these instructions, the event will be canceled immediately.
