Sanitary facilities
Accessible WC facilities can be found in Terminals A and C in the departures and arrivals areas, as well as in the combination module between A and B on the arrivals level. The facilities in Terminal A are provided in the public area. In Terminal C the facilities are in both the public area and in the waiting room. In Terminal B sanitary facilities are only available for people with reduced mobility in the waiting room. The sanitary facilities in the B and C waiting rooms are fully accessible. The toilets in the public area must be opened with a euro-key, but you can ask Airport Service to open them by calling from the info telephone (1740.
Elevators
All elevators are wheelchair accessible and fitted with a lower control panel, thereby ensuring barrier-free level changes at all points.
Gastronomy/Shopping
Access to restaurants and bars is also set up for wheelchair users, as is the shopping and duty-free area.
Telephones
Public telephones are provided in all terminal areas, and are also easily accessible for wheelchair users.
Service pillars
Pillars to call from for people with reduced mobility are provided in every terminal on both the arrivals and departures levels to improve the accessibility of the PRM Service. The service pillars are also identified with a wheelchair sign and can be used with induction loops for people with hearing aids. You will be connected with the PRM Service with a direct call button, so that you can independently order the necessary assistance at all times. Alternatively you can also contact your airline. Your check-in staff will be happy to do this for you.
Service pillar locations:
Terminal A – departures: In the center of the terminal adjacent to the panorama elevator.
Terminal A – arrivals: Opposite the panorama elevator.
Terminal B – departures: In the center of the terminal adjacent to the panorama elevator.
Terminal B – arrivals: On the right on the wall beside the escalators leading to the departures level.
Terminal C – departures: Between the Hub Convenience and the revolving doors to the S-Bahn (trains).
Terminal C – arrivals: Opposite the first revolving door to the S-Bahn and directly beside the elevator at the terminal exit.
Medical assistance
Should medical assistance be required, the Airport Fire Department and the Knights of St. John first aid assistance are ready at all times to help you. Health insurance-related emergency services can also be provided on request.

New tactile system in trial phase
In addition to the service pillars, which have been in place in the departures and arrivals areas for some time now, trial sensor strips have been laid on the floor leading away from entrances/exits (luminescent white and abraded). These strips lead to the call pillars, and are primarily designed for passengers and guests with sight impairments. But of course they also serve to provide better orientation for people with reduced mobility.
This is another of the many steps towards barrier-free traveling at Hannover Airport.
