Take advantage of your opportunity to buy in Germany and claim your money back when you leave the European Union (EU).
As a non-EU tourist you can save up to 12.6%! Don't miss out on this benefit!
Buy in the stores with the Global Blue logo and ask for the Global Blue Cheque (your name, address, passport number and country must be filled out by the dealer or in the dealer’s presence).
Note: The bill original or the till receipt must remain attached to the Global Blue Cheque.
Go first to customs when departing!
For air travelers:
If you are carrying your purchases in your baggage to be checked in:
a) If you are leaving Germany and the EU at the same time or you will stop over in another EU country, but are checking your baggage through:
- Go to the customs desk in Arrivals Hall B and present your purchases. You then receive the customs stamp on your Global Blue Cheque.
- You can then be paid the exportation certificate in cash at the Cash Blue Desk (6 am to 9 pm) in the Airport Service Center!
- Go to the airline desk to check in.
If you are leaving Germany but staying in another EU country: you only receive the customs stamp at the EU airport that you are leaving the EU from, where you proceed as described above under “a”.
b) If you are carrying your purchases in your hand luggage:
You only receive the customs stamp for hand luggage at the German customs desk when you are leaving the EU directly.
If, however, you are continuing to travel within the EU, even if only on a short stopover, you only receive the stamp for hand luggage at the last airport before you leave the EU. In EU airports you are refunded the VAT you paid at the Global Blue Desk!
At all Global Blue cash payment points you receive your money directly in cash! Should you prefer to have the refund paid via a credit card, this is of course also possible.
* Average rounded-off refund amount, processing expenses already deducted.
