The City of Hannover and the State of Niedersachsen have been the partners running Flughafen Hannover-Langenhagen GmbH since 1952. Fraport and Nord/LB joined in 1968 and Hannover City and Niedersachsen’s share in the company was reduced by 15% each. In 2001 Fraport AG acquired Nord/LB’s holdings, and since that point the company's shareholder structure has not changed.
