Since mid-2001 TMN has been developing and implementing cross-regional and topical marketing projects and concepts for tourism in Niedersachsen on behalf of its shareholders and Niedersachsen’s Ministry for Economy, Technology and Transportation. The high volumes of content, offers and information of the partners and regions are bundled in order to position Niedersachsen more successfully in tourist competition on both a national and international level; to develop a positive image for Niedersachsen; and to acquire new customers. In addition to consultancy and market research for its tourism partners and the state government, the company’s essential responsibilities also include product development, end customer marketing, quality management as part of "ServiceQualität Deutschland in Niedersachsen", and sales promotion.
In overseas marketing the company cooperates closely with the Deutschen Zentrale für Tourismus (DZT), Deutschen Küstenland e.V. (DKL) and important financial sales partners (airlines, Deutsche Bahn AG, tour operators).
Flughafen Hannover-Langenhagen GmbH has an 8.5% holding with share capital of EUR 235,000. Other shareholders with various percentage holdings include: Autostadt GmbH, Deutsche Messe Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Die Nordsee GmbH, Förderungsgesellschaft des niedersächsischen Hotel- und Gaststättengewerbes mbH, Heide-Park Soltau GmbH, TUI AG.
