Film and photo shoots at Hannover Airport are basically allowed in public areas. A photo/film permit from Flughafen GmbH must be applied for before you begin shooting. Various security specifications and regulations must be complied with according to the area. Please find these in the following information.

Public areas

These include, for example, parking spaces, operational units, terminals, galleries and shopping arcades, which are freely accessible to our passengers and visitors.
Please note that we are not the sole responsible for all motives. We are only too happy to provide the respective contacts and help you with your coordination. With regard to spatial bottlenecks, restrictions and possible dangers, film work and photo shoots can be declined, withdrawn, moved to another day or cancelled during production without any further naming of reasons.

The following details for further processing by the airport company are required for issuing film permits: Medium used, purpose, scope, filming day and duration of work including set up and dismantling, number of people, technical requirements and the required motives. 
Smaller productions with fewer requirements must be registered up to 24 hours beforehand. Please understand that the auditing of more extensive productions by the respective departments and security units can take several days.

General film and photo shoots are basically subject to approval and payment

Proof of proper and valid insurance in the event of damage or injury must be provided before the project starts.

For the public area

There may be absolutely no interference in the movement and flow of our passengers, visitors and personnel. It must also be clear and understood that the production or similar is not on behalf of Flughafen GmbH. Passengers and Airport staff and other companies at the Airport may only be surveyed/interviewed following prior consent. Publications must be shown before the project starts. With any possible conflicts of interest Hannover Airport may decline approval. Passengers that can be allocated directly to an airline, may only be surveyed after the respective airline has consented to such. Recordings of personal and goods checks are forbidden by the respective authorities. The instructions and specifications of Hannover Airport, security personnel and the respective authorities and supervisory personnel must be followed. Where instructions are violated the event will be cancelled immediately.

The following applies for non-public areas:

Non-public areas at Hannover Airport may only be entered following a personal/security check and accompanied by the respective supervisory person or people. Weapons, knives, scissors, screwdrivers and all other such objects are forbidden. Passengers and workflows must not be disturbed or impaired. Recordings of person and goods checks are forbidden by the respective authorities. The instructions and specifications of Hannover Airport, security personnel, authorities and supervisory personnel must be followed. Where instructions are violated the film work or photo shoot will be cancelled immediately
