Note
All passengers are urgently advised to inform themselves about current restrictions with their airline. The individual airlines may have further restrictions concerning hand luggage and issue information accordingly.
Allowed in hand luggage are:
- Generally one piece of hand luggage per person
(depending on the airline: 5 to 8 kg; max. dimensions: 55 x 40 x 20 cm) - Coat, blanket, etc.
- Reading material
- Small camera or binoculars
- Baby carrier and baby food
- Walking aids that you rely on
- Sealed products from duty free
- Restricted liquid types and amounts (see below)
Not allowed are:
- Weapons of any kind (incl. imitations)
- Sharp and/or pointed objects
- Blunt instruments
- Flammable substances (incl. lighters filled with petrol)
- Chemical, toxic and explosive substances

Taking liquids on board in hand luggage - within the EU
For your safety the European Union has restricted the inclusion of liquids in hand luggage:
- Each individual liquids container may have a capacity of no more than 100 ml.
- Liquids containers must be placed in a re-closable transparent plastic bag with a volume of no more than 1 liter (approx. 20 cm x 20 cm) and must be presented separately at the control point.
- Liquid medication and special food (e.g. baby food) that are required during the flight may be carried on; the need for this must be explained and justified at the control points.

These regulations do not apply to liquids that are bought after the control points, in duty-free shops, for example.

Security rules for hand luggage:
On all flights originating within the European Union – including domestic flights – liquids may only be taken through security in small quantities:
- All containers, with a maximum capacity of 100ml, must be packed in a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag.
- Only one bag is permitted per passenger.
- The bag must be completely sealed.
Medicines and special food (e.g. baby food) required during the flight do not need to be carried in the plastic bag. These items have to be presented at the security check too.
